Sri Narsimhulu (Oldest friend)
I have been a friend of Sri A. Madhava Reddy since his schooling days. We used to stay in the same Hostel in Bhongir. I happened to be the Hostel Monitor. The Hostel Warden noticed Sri A. Madhava Reddy having an argument with one of his colleagues & immediately asked me to take him into my room. This is how we met.
I would like to share an incident, which reminds me of his discipline. I noticed Sri A. Madhava Reddy sleeping in the room without attending the study hours. As a Hostel Monitor I had to punish him for his act. So, I cancelled one of his meals for that day. Later, I asked him to eat but he said that he wouldn't eat as he was punished & wouldn't go against the Hostel Rules.

Though my association with Sri A. Madhava Reddy was 2 decades old, as I had the rare honour of working as his Private Secretary for more than 6 years, I could observe him from close quarters. He was a man with humane touch. He was honest, a rare quality in Politicians, and meticulous. He had extraordinary Memory too. To cite an example, once I took a forest official, a close friend of mine, to him. When I began to introduce that man, the Minister said, "didn't I meet him before? You have already introduced him to me earlier". Indeed I did introduce my friend to him four and half years ago while the Minister was in Opposition. One needs extra ordinary memory to remember a person whom he meets only once and Sri A. Madhava Reddy had that.
